1 Week old!

Cocoa 1 Week Old

Cocoa is such a cuddler, I almost think she likes her picture taken. She's the kids favorite.  She is so calm when you hold her.

Stella (ignoring me) 2 Weeks 1 Day Old

Stella didn't want her picture taken today.  She is usually pretty noisy when you separate her from her sisters

Cookie is such a sweetie too.  Not quite as calm as Cocoa, but almost.  She's kind of pudgy too.

The big girls have finally stopped sleeping in their nesting box, yes all six of them in one 12"x12" box.  I'm thinking they didn't know that chickens sleep on roosts.  I made them a new one for inside their run and they loved it so much I made one just like it for the hen house and put it in front of the nesting boxes.  Well they just went under (chicken limbo) the roost and into the nesting box.  2 Days later they are sleeping on their roosts, not the new one though.  but that's ok because it was going to be a problem if they kept sleeping in there.

I gave them some strawberries in the suet cage, it was a nice tasty treat for them.  I also gave them a piece of bread this morning because I dropped it on the floor when I was making the kids lunches.  I read somewhere that you could give them stale bread so I thought what the heck.  They gobbled the bread up right away.  They are so funny, I was tearing the bread up into small pieces and dropping it their dish, one grabs a piece and runs away and they all chase her and try to get it.....really, what about the other pieces in the dish????

The original six have gotten so big, I will have to get some pictures of them taken tomorrow, you won't recognize them.  They look like chickens now, their combs have not turned red yet but Margarita, Mojito and Sangria are starting to develop waddles.
